House Republicans on Saturday added Hunter Biden, son of former Vice President Joe Biden, to the list of witnesses they plan to testify at the Democrat-led impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.
Republicans also want to call the whistleblower, whose identity has yet to be officially revealed, and whose actions prompted the inquiry.
There are six other people on the Republicans’ list.
Adam Schiff, the Democratic chairman of the U.S. House intelligence panel, asked Republicans earlier in the week to submit witness requests by Saturday ahead of next week’s public hearings.
Schiff, said in a statement released Thursday, Democrats do not intend to request public testimony from every witness who has provided depositions in closed-door sessions with lawmakers.
