Insider.com has turned special counsel Robert Mueller’s 448-page report into a graphic novel because no one, including lawmakers, is actually reading it, the website editor said Wednesday.
In an interview on CNN’s “Right Now,” the website’s editor-in-chief Nicholas Carlson said “it’s pretty clear to us that no one is reading the Mueller report.”
“In fact, they still aren’t. Some of the most important people in the country aren’t reading it.”
The publication hired Mark Bowden, a journalist and author known for “Black Hawk Down,” “Killing Pablo,” and “Hue 1968,” as well as Chad Hurd, an illustrator from the art department of “Archer.”
The result was posted Wednesday.
Some of those “most important people” not reading the report are on both sides of the aisle in Congress.
“It’s tedious,” said Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, noting she keeps a copy in a large stack of things she turns to for her daily reading. “In fairness, I haven’t picked it up in at least two weeks.”
Rep. Collin Peterson, D-Minn., said he had not read the whole report either.
“It is what it is,” he said when asked why.
“I didn’t have to read it. I lived it,” Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., griped. “I intended to read cover to cover, but there was nothing in it that was a surprise to me.”
